The Island Beach
I came to this beach for a quiet and relaxing holiday during the new year of 2011-2012 and, to my surprise, I found a beach like I had never seen before. Beautiful and full of life, it was a place in which one would like to stay forever. On the beach I saw starfish, sea urchins and various species of birds for the first time as well as the crabs who, in their search for food, gave a reddish color to the sand in the mornings and evenings. The beach is beautiful and seems desolate. Arriving at the site is easy, just take the bus to Barranaca, located in University Park (18 soles for New Year) and it takes 3 hrs approx.
When there, get off at the main square of Supe and take a taxi (5-8 soles) that will take you straight to the beach. Bear in mind that the area of Supe is small and there are no large stores to buy lots of food or other goods. You can only buy food or small items. I recommend that you visit this beach ... I assure you will enjoy it and that there are no more beautiful places in the country.
