The medieval residence of the Abbot
In medieval times this house-museum was part of a complex formed in Dunfermline Abbey, first founded by a Benedictine and monastic reformer (Gregorian) in Scotland in the days of Margaret, Queen and Saint. It is assumed by the remains found, that this is where the abbot lived with the cupola of the Benedictine abbey, in fact the only separation from the main building is the cemetery. After the reformation and dissolution of the order (XVI century) the house was passed from owner to owner until it was donated, it became a museum after a long restoration process, due to its rundown state. Today it is one of the most representative museums of the city of Dunfermline and interestingly a color that is a true reflection of the original.
