Great Tribute tower is in the center
On the occasion of the Feast of Cod, I went to the quiet Portuguese town of Melgaço that grew around the fortress built by the first king of Portugal D. Alfonso Henriques. The Great Tribute tower is in the center of the fortress which dominates the narrow streets and crossings that intersect inside the walls. Around the fortress is a café, a beautiful statue and the entrance arch that will give the old village and the impressive Torre museum a center. There is also the Casa del Alvariño and the Film Museum, which you enter for 1 €. As I say the town is not very big, but if you have enough restaurants
