La Escuela de Inglés fue fundada en 1900 por Canon Frank Darvall Newham , un joven de 36 años que acababa de llegar a la isla.
La Escuela de Inglés para niñas (fundada en 1957 ) se constituyó en 1962 y se convirtió en la primera escuela mixta en Chipre. En 1960, Chipre obtuvo su independencia y una ley especial se promulgó que pasa el control de la Escuela de Inglés de la República de Chipre. En 2003 la Escuela de Inglés readmitido estudiantes turco-chipriotas por primera vez desde la invasión de 1974.
Actualmente la población estudiantil es de 1043, hay 106 profesores y 20 funcionarios de apoyo.
The English School was founded in 1900 by Canon Frank Darvall Newham, a young man of 36 who had just arrived in the island. The English School for Girls (founded in 1957) was established in 1962 and became the first coeducational school in Chipre.En 1960, Cyprus became independent and a special law was enacted that passes control of the School of English at Republic of Cyprus. In 2003 the School of English Turkish Cypriots readmitted students for the first time since the 1974 invasion. Currently the student population of 1043, there are 106 teachers and 20 support staff.
