This mansion was built in 1901 by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Julius Berwind, who had made their fortune in the coal industry. It was designed as a replica of a castle in France. Like most Newport mansions, the tour comes with an audio guide. You'll enter into a beautiful lobby, with marble and a grand staircase that leads to 5 bedrooms and lounges. There is also a beautiful winter garden where the owner hosted card games until his death at an advanced age. In the basement, you'll find a spacious, beautiful kitchen. You can also visit the gardens and grounds.
