Was for control and protection
Today the wall begins in Prince's Dock and continues all along Waterloo Road ending in Stanley Dock, it was for control and protection. Each portal corresponds to each different dock (almost) and to a different style ranging from the classic designs of Forester to the whimsical turrets of Hartley's style. So the journey becomes a way for years and fashion design. This wall and its gates to the docks give a grandeur as if they were castles and so we understand the pride and strength of Liverpool trade.
