The Danube at Rousse
The Danube River is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga. It starts in the Black Forest in Germany at the confluence in Donauschingen of the two small rivers, the Brigach and Breg. It flows for 2,888 miles east to the Black Sea, where it forms the Danube Delta. The Delta region with its marshes and swamps is sparsely populated, although of great ecological value.
