The Center of Dunhuang: Rotoda Shanzhou

La cuadriculada ciudad-oásis de [poi=463181]Dunhuang[/poi] se distribuye a partir de la céntrica rotonda Shanzhou, de la que irradian cuatro calles, hacia cada uno de los puntos cardinales. A cual de ellas con más interesante destino. La calle del norte, nos llevaría hasta la cercana Mongolia, en su extremo más suroeste, a través del [poi=463171]desierto de Gobi[/poi]. La del sur, Shazhou South Lu, nos acerca al [poi=463091]lago de la Media Luna[/poi] y a las [poi=463101]Dunas Cantarinas[/poi]. Bastante cercanos a la ciudad. Se puede ir en bus urbano. Por la calle del oeste alcanzaremos, en las proximidades de la ciudad, a la [poi=463081]White Horse pagoda[/poi] y al [poi=463111]fuerte cinematográfico[/poi]. Y bastante retirado, usaremos esta calle para salir hacia la zona de [poi=425551]Yadan[/poi], o acceder a los últimos pasos de la gran muralla: [poi=463131]Yumen[/poi] y [poi=463141]Yangguang[/poi], y a los últimos vestigios de la [poi=463151]Gran Muralla China[/poi]. Pero sin lugar a dudas, la más interesante, es la calle que se dirige hacia el este: Yangguan Dong Lu. Por ella, y a pie (a unos pasos), encontraremos el [poi=420041]mercado nocturno[/poi] (para turistas) y a través de este llegaremos al [poi=415581]mercado local Shazhou[/poi]. Unos pasos más, y en la acera frente a la entrada del mercado nocturno, está el Museo de la Ciudad. Y al lado el teatro de Dunhuang. Todo esto en la misma manzana. Por la misma Yangguan Dong, pero ya a las afueras, en bus, llegaremos a las famosas [poi=420611]Cuevas de Mogao[/poi] (frente al aeropuerto). La rotonda, en sí misma, como buen centro de ciudad que se precie, alberga: la oficina de correos y telecomunicaciones, dos centros comerciales y en sus bajos, todo tipo de comercios. Además de bastante ambiente y movimiento durante todo el día.
