Cathedral of the Puna, temple with the image of the Virgin of Assumption
In this city of no more than 300 this church is also known as the Cathedral of the Puna, and is the temple where the image of the Virgin of the Assumption is held, whose feast day is on August 15. It is through Purmamarca, Tilcara and the Gorge Humahuaca . Adobe walls 3 feet wide, painted white ceiling, the building dates back to the 18th century and what is striking are the pictures of Cuzco and the painting of Angels Arcabuceros , which provides an exquisite aesthetic. They have an ancient beauty of very fine features, wide-brimmed hats, some with ornaments made of feathers or silk ties. Shoes with bows are like those of the French courts, with broad layers of pastel colors and muskets shouldered.
