El Castro de Coaña es el castro más emblemático de Asturias, un yacimiento, que data cuando menos, del siglo IV a. C. . En la actualidad pueden visitarse más de ochenta construcciones totalmente excavadas, así como murallas, cuerpos de guardia, mobiliario doméstico como molinos circulares y piedras con cazoletas de granito. Sus horarios son: Verano (1 abril-30 septiembre): Miércoles a domingo de 10.30 a 17.30 siendo el último pase recomendado a las 17.00 h. Invierno (1 octubre-31marzo): Miércoles a domingo de 10.30 a 15.30 siendo el último pase recomendado a las 15.00 h. Recordar que está sujeto a horario a diferencia del otro castro el de pendía que está siguiendo la misma carretera siempre en dirección a boal. Asegurarse los horarios, pero los domingos está abierto solo por la mañana....Interesante la visita y las vistas que desde allí hay !!!

No hace mucho tuve ocasión de conocer El Castro de Coaña, un lugar declarado Bien de Interés Cultural. Cuenta con los restos, razonablemente bien conservados, de un poblado de época romana, calles con sus calzadas empedradas, plazas, casas y edificios públicos como las saunas. La visita a este sitio es interesantísima y nos permite conocer de primera mano cómo vivían los antiguos pobladores de estas tierras. Recomiendo la visita guiada y, eso sí, no temáis la lluvia: la visita es mucho más atractiva con ella.
