The Castle Pier

The Castle is the name of a quaint little village on the banks of Nalón between De Soto and S. Juan de la Arena. Apart from a handful of houses and a cobbled streets, it is characterized by a magnificently preserved tower and defensive wall, a magnificent garden and a lovely pier, from where several boats go fishing for eel, fairly abundant in this estuary. It is an ideal place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy a moment of tranquility watching the beautiful natural surroundings. I love this corner of Asturias.
