Fascinating free contemporary art museum in Downtown Los Angeles
The Broad is an intriguing contemporary art museum in Downtown Los Angeles that opened in September 2015 and offers free admission! With approximately 2,000 exhibits and three floors, it’s a must-see when in Los Angeles for many, many reasons. It is particularly popular because of the Infinity Mirrored Room exhibit by artist Yayoi Kusama, where visitors get 45 seconds inside a room full of lights and mirrors that make the room seem infinite. There are also some fascinating steel art pieces by Jeff Koons, an enormous dinner table and chairs by Robert Therrien, and more! Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes when visiting, as there will be a lot of walking involved.
The museum is located near many other nearby attractions within walking distance, such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Grand Park, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, among others. Parking can be a little tricky, but there are paid lots available around the area and metered street parking. Highly recommended!
