The Boar in Granite
This boar, located in the Plaza del Castillo, is one of the emblems of Ciudad Rodrigo. It is a distinctive granite sculpture of Celtic origin, from the Vetones era, dating back to none other than IV century BC. I do not understand how a historical piece as old and valuable as this one is here, in the open, exposed to wear and tear and possible vandalism (last year it appeared full of graffiti). It has become the preferred playground for children, they keep climbing on it. It was practically impossible to take a photograph without children on it! This sculpture is included in the "Ruta de Los Castros and boars" in Salamanca.
