The Balme Lake of Sillingy

If anything characterizes the Upper Savoy besides its mountains, it's the abundance of lakes. Lake Balme is miniature compared to the great lakes of the region, such as Annecy or Geneva. However, the fact remains that it's very nice indeed, easy to access and enjoy nature with family/friends. Bathing in the lakes is forbidden, but there are many activities to do, like sailing, picnicking and fishing (especially as it is an aquatic reserve that is periodically repopulated). At night, the lake is lit to allow night walkers to enjoy it too.
