Templo de San Orbán

El templo de San Orbán (“Szent Orbán templom” en idioma húngaro) es una iglesia católica romana ubicada en la ciudad de Gyöngyös. Inaugurado durante el Siglo XVIII, el edificio fue originalmente construido en estilo gótico. Sin embargo, alrededor de cien años después se llevó a cabo una restauración completa en la que el templo fue convertido en estilo barroco. En el interior de la iglesia hay un altar construido durante el Siglo XVII, además de uno de los órganos más grandes de la región de Héves. Si bien las fotografías están prohibidas al interior, justo frente a la fachada principal se encuentra un pequeño parque abierto al público. Para llegar a templo, lo más sencillo es caminar desde el casco histórico siguiendo la avenida Damjanich János hacia el oeste. El recorrido no te llevará más de diez minutos, aunque también hay un autobús público que recorre la avenida desde el centro y hasta el cercano Templo del Calvario.

The temple of Saint Orbán ("Szent Orbán templom" in the Hungarian language) is a Roman Catholic church located in the city of Gyöngyös. Inaugurated during the 18th century, the building was originally built in Gothic style. However, about a hundred years later, a complete restoration was carried out in which the temple was converted into a Baroque style. Inside the church there is an altar built during the seventeenth century, in addition to one of the largest organs in the region of Héves. Although the photographs are forbidden to the interior, just in front of the main facade there is a small park open to the public. To get to the temple, the easiest thing to do is to walk from the old town, following Damjanich János avenue to the west. The tour will not take you more than ten minutes, although there is also a public bus that runs along the avenue from downtown and to the nearby Temple of Calvary.
