The name of these baths is related to another nearby archaeological site discovered during the excavations for the construction of private houses. As often happens in the historic center of Toledo, rich in every corner of historic treasures, before the work became mandatory control that led to this extraordinary archaeological discovery: A complex of baths and a complex for tanning and dyeing of leather dating from the twelfth century and used until the eighteenth century. Today the building has been completely restored, but it is only accessible by appointment. At any time, you can instead take a catwalk that surrounds the complex from the outside, easily accessible from the promenade along the river Tajo.

They are located next to the River Tagus at Toledo, near the church of San Sebastian de las Carreras, south of the city. They were discovered and excavated between 1988 and 1989. Later, in 1997, new excavations were commissioned, confirming the importance of the site and the existence of human occupation during the Middle Ages, which had extended to the modern age. The bathrooms consisted of several consecutive rooms complemented with access and service areas. They were built with thick walls and low rise domed cover. The archaeological site is surrounded by a path and allows contemplation from outside. In addition, a platform and an information board help to understand the totality of the deposit.
