Taghazout Market

Taghazout is a village 15 kilometers north of Agadir. Agadir is the capital of Moroccan beach tourism. While Agadir doesn't have much charm, Taghazout is a town with soul, and although it's close to the major tourist city, it's managed to retain a certain amount of character. You can see it in the morning if you go to the village market. It's on the main square, next to the main road from Agadir to Essaouira. There's not much going on there since some things get placed on the ground, and in others people are selling digital stuff, a watch or a pair of second-hand shoes, and of course fish. With tourism as the main source of income for these people.

If you buy a whole fish, you can then go back to your hotel and ask them to prepare it with bread and salad, sometimes even with fries. Here, people don't think about defrauding tourist. It's a more relaxed and authentic atmosphere.
