Taga Jinja

In the small town of Uwajima , one famous tourist spot is a curious shrine to fertility. There, there are several phallic sculptures, in addition to the typical ornaments and stone lanterns typical of these type of sites. In the main hall, there is a very large wooden penis which appears to be taken in procession during an annual festival. Building on the theme of fertility, and for no reason I can think of within the shrine is a really expensive sex museum, entry costing 800 yen. But if you go to the tourist office of the station first, you can get a discount of 300 yen. The museum was quite large because it was made up of three floors completely full of cabinets with all kinds of figures, drawings of penises and sexual scenes and of all sizes, colors and materials.
