San Andrés
One of the classic tours in Budapest is a visit to the town of San Andrés. It is just 20 minutes from the capital and has certain features that make it worthwhile. It is a bohemian village, also bathed by the Danube, which was occupied by Serbs and Greeks a long time ago, when their lands were, in turn, occupied by the Turks. The village, therefore, has a Mediterranean flair that sets it apart from the typical local buildings. Until a few years ago it was home to many poets, painters and intellectuals, although in recent years it has become more of a tourist attraction.
