Sucre

Sucre, the white city, is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, while Paz is the administrative capital. It is in the region of Chuquisava, in the countryside. It is more than 2500 meters above sea level, but it seems like a Mediterranean city, with its white colonial houses, quiet streets and walls where poems have been written by local poets. It is one of the most beautiful cities in South America, and certainly the most beautiful in Bolivia, architecturally at least. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and anyone who wants to build a house within the grounds of the old town has to have a permit, confirming that they will respect the architectural harmony of the city.
