New Years in Bombinhas,white roses and toasts
We went with friends to spend the New Year in Bombinhas. During the days before the night of Reveillon, we visited the different beaches around. Praia do Bombinhas is popular, so it is crowded. The waters are calm, and there are many lodges, bars, food stalls, restaurants, etc.. There are also many diving schools offering snorkel rental items, etc.. for not only bombinhas, but also on some beaches and islands. Regarding the weather, we were lucky to be there on such nice days, except the odd cloud, but they go away. The main street (Avenida Manoel Jose Dos Santos) can be walked from end to end in a short while.
It is full of galleries, business meals, clothing shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, parlors, etc.. It features a craft fair and at night there is great movement of young people hanging out in bars, or simply meeting on the street. For New Year's Eve, everyone goes to the beach for a while before 12 to make the countdown in the final seconds, and enjoy the spectacular amount of fireworks that can be seen along the coast. Heladeritas carry their drinks and toast, and some have white roses that they throw into the sea while asking for their wishes for the new year. When the fireworks become scarce people starts moving around the beaches, as Lagoinha.
