3 reviews of Church of St Thomas and St Edmunds

Largest religious fresco in the country

Although most visitors to Salisbury head straight to the Cathedral, there is another great little gem in the city, the hidden Church of St Thomas and St Edmunds, known simply as St Thomas. It is a well-preserved twelfth century church with free entry (you are encouraged to leave a donation though). It was built as a place of prayer for the laborers working on the cathedral. Inside you'll find interesting little touches like the coat of arms of Elizabeth I and the largest religious fresco in the country. If you go to Salisbury, don't miss it.
