The main street of the Jewish Quarter
Sant Domènec del Call has an unbeatable location in the Jewish Quarter, since it is the main axis in the heart of the neighborhood. Due to the location, it was the street where historical buildings like the Ancient Synagogue were located and it is currently used as a way to go to the other most important streets of the neighborhood, like Marlet street, Call street, Server street with the Baixada de Santa Eulàlia.
It is a long and narrow street with few lights. It has a brighter and enlarged area at the intersection with Manuel Ribé square and L'Arc de Sant Ramón street, in which we can see the beauty of the streetlights hanging, of the buildings and especially of the balconies with window boxes, giving the neighborhood a unique and particular image.
This street changed name various times due to the historical events it had to go through, it was The Ancient Synagogue street, Carnicería (Butcher's) street, and of one of the entrance doors to the neighborhood of Call, also known as the Jewish Quarter.
Nowadays, it is still one of the most famous streets of the neighborhood for its various shops and bars: from handicrafts of jewels to the Vinatería del Call. This place has become one of great interest throughout the years, as part of the route through the Jewish Quarter.
