Stony Bridge
Upon arrival, we left the car in a parking lot on the edge of town, as entrance for vehicles of non-residents are not allowed. We had two options, being taking the straight road to enter the village, or taking a road on the right, where we found a bridge across a river. Here it is not uncommon to see ducks and many different birds. I must add that we went to Valentine and to freezing cold. Ee crossed the bridge into almost the heart of the village. If you decide to stay over, I recommend the first hostel, which is situated just across the bridge. Do not expect a luxury room as this town is known as the oldest in Catalonia.
The town is all stone and all the houses are rustic but comfortable, very quiet and with lovely breakfast on offer. You can stroll through the village, which is not very big. It is however amazing. There are multiple paths and walks and I recommend that you see the waterfall, which if I remember correctly is the highest in Catalonia. You will also encounter typical sausages, with the exorbitant size of 2 meters. Also you can eat very well at any restaurant. We ate at a restaurant close by the hostel and we were very pleased with our meal. In closing I will say that for me personally the best time of year to visit is in winter. Snow can be encountered at any time and the snow-covered houses, stone houses and fountains are worth seeing .
