Hotel at the gateway to Lapland
Skelleftea City is the gateway to Lapland because there are flights from Nordic countries and the rest of Europe that go to this northern territory. We stopped at a hotel with a special structure: there are several buildings around a "square", viewed from outside they do not seem to belong to the same company but appear to be apartment buildings. Located 10 minutes from downtown, there are bikes to get through typical neighborhood areas. The main building is low and has a square with a courtyard and interior garden which houses the reception (closed at night), meeting rooms, sauna and rooms. Another building, stately, two-story and yellow (it used to be an old private house), acts as the hotel's gastronomic center: breakfast is served there, events are held and it has a garden down to the river where barbecues are.
