Preserve and promote historic buildings
The Steves Homestead in San Antonio is intended to preserve and promote historic buildings, objects, places and customs related to Texas history . It was founded in 1924 by the San Antonio Conservation League, one of the oldest active conservation communities in the USA. Aside from buying historic buildings threatened with demolition, the company also creates field-trip bus tours of historical sites for school children and provides grants for community preservation projects.
