Family atmosphere

Steak n Shakes is a small local chain of restaurants that specialize in hamburgers and milkshakes. They create a 1940's setting of America. The restaurant is decorated red, white and black, the waiters wear uniforms and the bar opens into the kitchen. Here you'll find a family atmosphere and fast food at reasonable prices. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs (frankfurters) and the philly steak sandwich (roast beef sandwich), a variety of shakes that are part of the hook of the place. They have a happy hour for children, Monday through Thursday after the school, thus making it a fun place to have a snack.

I often go to the one which is located in Duluth on Pleasant Hill Avenue. Kids receive crayons with which to draw on the menu, a piece of paper and a cardboard model of a car at the time, to enjoy. Its not as light as fast food, but with great service and seating to comfortably accommodate customers.
