Cisneros Cardinal Statue
The statue of Cardinal Cisneros is located right in the center of the municipality Palencia Cisneros, less than 36 kilometers from Palencia capital, basically right at the entrance to the city of Cisneros. This statue Depicts Fray Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros, better known as Cardinal Cisneros. He was recognized once as Franciscan friar, confessor to Queen Isabella, Archbishop and Cardinal, although she was best known in Spain as inquisitor or regent (this was the role held until the arrival in Spain of the future Emperor Charles V), and of course for being the founder of the University of Alcala de Henares.
The statue is made entirely of stone, and it even sits on a stone statue. It is located right at the Town Hall of Cisneros. The church of St. Peter's dome features Don Thorium Ximenez de Cisneros, Cardinal grandfather, still in Gothic style and is particularly the Provincial Parish Museum.
