The Cabras Pond and it’s rich variety of birds
The Cabras Pond, located in the region of Oristano, is the largest freshwater lake on the island of Sardinia. It’s famous for being home to numerous species of birds like flamingoes, cormorants, vultures, gulls, eagles, kingfishers, and herons, to name a few. The pond is located near the town of Cabras and is also a top destination for mullet fishing. In fact, one of the region’s most popular products is “botarga,” a form of dried and salted mullet roe.
