St. Peter Apostle

The ticket to enter the Temple of San Pedro Apostle Andahuaylillas is about 5 soles ($ 2.) This temple is known as the Sistine Chapel of America, because of the richness of its murals. It was founded around 1572 by the Viceroy of Peru, Francisco de Toledo. In 1606 it is said that there was an extension, expansion, stretching the ship. This expansion followed the typical way to build temples in the southern Andes used for the parishes of "towns of Indians". The plant has a single nave and bell tower oblong chapels on either side of it. The murals are wonderful, though now a reconstruction is taking places and pictures are not permitted.
