Imposing Mudéjar church
This imposing Mudéjar church is located in the El Gancho neighborhood in Zaragoza's historic district, just off to the west of the Plaza de Pilar. As you wander through the narrow bohemian streets of El Gancho, you'll see the tall Moorish-inspired tower between the buildings and you'll feel drawn to it immediately.
The church combines Gothic and Mudéjar styles and was originally built in the 13th century, but has since been elaborated and expanded. Supposedly, the interior is just stunning but I was there late in the afternoon and couldn't visit the inside. I've heard that the inside has two floors and has the breathtaking proportions of a Gothic church with the geometric details typical of Mudéjar constructions.
