St. Michael the Archangel

This is undoubtedly the most recognized figure in Tazacorte: Saint Michael the Archangel.

As a matter of fact, the festivals in honor of Saint Michael are the most important in the town of Tazacorte. They start at the beginning of September and culminate the 29th, the day of the solemnity of the patron saint of La Palma. The Saint Michael Archangel statue was inaugurated September 29th, 2007.

I’ve been told that everyone goes out to the streets to celebrate the festival (I wasn’t lucky enough to be there during the celebration).

They give the veneration of Saint Michael the Archangel in Tazacorte. That’s why the town keeps him as their patron saint, together with Our Lady of Carmen.
