A very nice building
The imposing light blue dome that can be seen above the roofs of Highgate is the great church of St. Joseph. Beside Waterlow Park, the building is a perfect blend of Romanesque and Byzantine art. The interior is rich with mosaics, arches, tables, a manual organ, and the ornately decorated high altar. And, quite rare these days, there is a censer above the altar, still used on special occasions. Seen from the outside, the beautiful, 1800-ton church appears more like a cathedral. A very nice building. Worth visiting!
