St. James' Episcopal Church

St James' Church is an Episcopal church located on the corner of Madison Avenue and 71st Street. It was built in 1810 to serve the families who lived on Lennox Hill, and celebrated its bicentennial in 2010. It has been renovated over the years, most recently in 2004. Members of the Parish of St. James educate adults, and also teach music, and their evangelizing extends from the Bronx all the way to southern Africa. Both its exterior and its interior are very warm. The building is very well lit, and the main altar is decorated beautifully.
