St George Utah Temple

For a little known city, St. George is really quite beautiful. It is of particular significance to Mormons and home to the St. George Utah Temple, the oldest temple still in use by the Mormon Church. My trip through the area was focused on the amazing natural wonders of the area’s national parks, but it was a great surprise to stumble upon an architectural masterpiece like this, especially when it was so unexpected. 175ft. tall and pure white, it is quite a shocking site. Unfortunately the main building is only open to church members, but there is a visitors center that has interesting information on the difficult construction of the temple, whose site was originally swampy ground.
