St. Anne's Church
To reach Benamocarra from the Costa del Sol, take the Mediterranean Motorway (A7, N 340) and, at the height of Velez-Malaga where is connects with the A-335, take the MA -135 which takes you directly to the town. The name of the town derives from the Arabic for "sons of Mukarran", and its streets retain the layout of the Moorish times, with steep slopes. Climbing one of them, we found the Church of Santa Ana, whose construction dates from the sixteenth century, although in the course of time, it has undergone several renovations and restorations. The church has three naves that are separated by arches and pillars.
