Sredets (Средец)

Si quieres salir a cenar o tomar una copa en Sofía, Sredets es el lugar. Este pequeño barrio alternativo en el centro está lleno de coctelerías, restaurantes de moda, bares clandestinos y pubs – es para Sofia lo que es el Distrito VII para Budapest o el barrio de Freidrichshain para Berlín. Es canalla, moderna y muy, muy divertida. Sredets está situado en el sureste del centro de Sofía a sólo unos minutos del Palacio de Justicia o la Catedral de Alexander Nevsky. El barrio se compone de solo seis o siete manzanas así que puedas explorarlo fácilmente a pie. En cuanto a monumentos, no hay nada especial en Sredets con la excepción de la iglesia de Sveti Sedmochislenitsi, una hermosa iglesia ortodoxa construida en lo que fue originalmente una mezquita otomana. Es sólo cuando se cae el sol que el barrio se llena de vida (de hecho, Sredets era de lejos la zona de Sofía donde más gente vimos por la calle). Mis recomendaciones para salir en Sredets son las siguientes: 1.) Hambara – un mítico bar clandestino iluminado solamente por velas; 2.) The Aparment - una café y bar increíble situado en un apartamento renovad; 3.) The Little Things - un restaurante que sirve comida búlgara moderna situado en una casita antigua y coqueta; 4.) The Cocktail Bar – innovadores de la mixología en Sofia y donde se sirven los mejores cócteles de la ciudad.

If you want to go out to dinner or a drink in Sofia, Sredets is the place. This small alternative neighborhood in the center is full of cocktail bars, trendy restaurants, bars and pubs clandestine - is for what the Sofia District VII Budapest or neighborhood Freidrichshain to Berlin. It is scoundrel, modern and very, very funny. Sredets is located in the southeast of downtown Sofia just a few minutes from the Palace of Justice or the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The neighborhood consists of just six or seven blocks so you can easily explore on foot. As for monuments, there is nothing special in Sredets with the exception of the church of Sveti Sedmochislenitsi, a beautiful Orthodox church built in what was originally an Ottoman mosque. It is only when the sun goes down that the neighborhood is full of life (in fact, Sredets was by far the Sofia where more people saw the street). My recommendations to leave in Sredets are: 1.) Hambara - a mythical speakeasy lit only by candles; 2.) The Aparment - An amazing coffee and bar located in an apartment Renew; 3.) The Little Things - a restaurant serving modern Bulgarian restaurant located in an old house and flirtatious; 4.) The Cocktail Bar - innovative mixology in Sofia and where the best cocktails in town are served.
