Spanish Embassy
Palace Palhavã is in what is now Plaza de España, Lisbon and was built in 1660 as a rural property of the Cunha family, known as the Marquis of Palhavã. It then went to other noble families such as the counts of Sarzedas and Azambuja. The original architect was Joao Nunes Tinoco, author of other prominent palaces, although his work has undergone several tweaks and changes over the centuries, some with strong influences of the prevailing styles, until its acquisition by the Spanish State in 1918.
