Southwark Cathedral

Southwark Cathedral is a beautiful church located behind Borough Market in south London. The whole neighborhood on the south bank of the Thames to London Bridge height is called Southwark. There is a small garden where many people come to eat a sandwich or a salad. There were so many people that you had to pay to sit in the park! It is the cathedral of San Salvador and Santa Maria. There has been a church on this site from 606. The oldest cathedral in the city, there is evidence that it was previously a holy place for pagan Romans. Southwark was the oldest point at which you could cross the river, north towards the Romans.
