Island Lights
As its name suggests, Block Island’s Southeast Light is perched high above the waves on the island’s southeastern shore. The building houses a museum and gift shop, and the tower is open for tours in the summer. But it’s worth the beautiful half-hour walk or quick drive from the Old Harbor area just to see the exterior of this brick Victorian lighthouse, often named as one of New England’s prettiest. Buy a snack at the Southeast Light Delight food truck and relax on the grounds that overlook the gorgeous coastline.
If you want more, there’s another lighthouse at Block Island’s northern end.
