Sócrates Memorial

This large stone sculpture is located in the gardens of Troncoso, downstairs from the Glorieta de Vigo. Formerly a bust in honor of this great philosopher was installed in the gardens of Santo Domingo, which Benito Prieto felt a special weakness. The work was short-lived as one summer of, because of intolerance, it ended up in the waters of the river Miño, and was never recovered. So the monument to this great philosopher, was recreated with great assistance from personalities and neighbors of Tui, and of course with the help of the City which has provided the stone to make a replica bust of Socrates.
