The whole city was outside
The day that I began my tour of Macedonia, it was the day when the museums are open all night, and there were lots of shows in the street. The whole city was outside and of course all the museums were open at night, so I went to the Museum of the City of Skopje. Today this museum is located next to the ruins of the old train station, destroyed in 1963 along with eighty percent of the city by a massive earthquake of 6.1 on the Richter scale, which killed 1,000 people and left 120000 people homeless. The museum was established in 1949. The museum's permanent exhibits depicts the history of the city since 3000 BC.
