Silvio Pettirossi International Airport

12 reviews of Silvio Pettirossi International Airport

Silvio Pettirossi INternational Airport

Silvio Pettirossi International Airport is 16 km from Asunción and is the largest airport in Paraguay. It is named after the famous Paraguayan aviator Silvio Pettirossi. We had to make a layover of 8 hours, spending the night, so we had time to see it. The airport is small compared to others, but provides all services. It has nice shops with local handicrafts in the public arrivals area and duty free stores. It has a bar where you can have a drink for a good price and good service, they accepted pesos and that was all we had, and obviously also they accept dollars. Everyone was very nice.

Opt out of Scanners, Naked Body Scanners that is

Excellent

I was very disappointed in the two rude men working security in that you can’t opt out of the naked body scanner at the Asuncion airport. They ignore you when you want to opt out even when there are hardly any people in line. In the United States, I always opt out and it isn’t a problem. Just search naked body scanners (on a good search engine with no controlled algorithms) and how the radiation from these machines can cause cancer, eye problems, DNA damage, nerve problems, sterility and more. Choose not to microwave your body. It’s not a good idea. The airport should educate themselves, show respect to their customers, allow them to opt out, and stop causing harm to people.
