Sierra Nevada National Park
Sierra Nevada National Park (PNAC) is located between Merida and Barinas states in the west. It was born in 1952 to protect the natural spot in the Andean Cordillera. The Sierra Nevada is of great importance to Venezuela, because it is the highest altitude ecosystem in the country, and the mountains are named "Five White Eagles". The following make up the group of mountains: Pico Bolivar (5007m), Pico Humboldt (4942m), Pico La Concha (4922 , Pico El Toro (4755m) and Pico The Lion (4740m).
