Supporting Local Customs
This shop is about 2 km from the city, beside the reservoir viewpoint and the Environmental Tourist Interpretation Centre. It was built by the City Council in order to raise awareness, promote and support local products and the artisans who made them using ancient techniques. Here you can find typical costumes, objects made of wicker or wood, regionally typical musical instruments (bagpipes, castanets, drums, piccolos cane, etc.), miniatures of Jesus of Cartolinha, wines from the Arribes, artisan jams, etc.. The store also has a cafe where you can have a drink while gazing on the Arribes.
