Built in 705
The Abbey, in central Sherborne, is the one place you really can't miss if you visit this town. It was built in 705 (no, that's not a typo. It really is that old!) and has been at various times a Saxon cathedral, a Benedictine abbey and parish. It has beautiful architecture and in the spring and summer is surrounded by flowers. While in Sherborne, you should also drop in to the Pageant Gardens and Sherborne School.
