The last Emir of Abu Dhabi, now deceased, paid to build this impressive mosque which is very reminiscent of the Taj Mahal monument in India. The mosque, much bigger, is built in white marble and semi-precious stones. We could not visit because it was Friday and that is the Muslim day of prayer. Makes you wonder how much money you need to have to build something like this?
