Breathtaking views
One of the misconceptions about Ben Nevis is that it is a single mountain or summit. In fact, the name is given to both a mountain range and its highest peak, which is also the highest point in the UK. There are many routes to discover in this range, and one of the easiest is Sgurr Finnisg-Aig. It is over 600 meters high, but at the base we are already about 400 meters above sea level. It takes about an hour to reach the top, where there are breathtaking views of the valley where the town of Fort William sits, and the mountains leading north towards Loch Ness. The climb is not difficult, except in winter, when you'll need crampons and an ice axe.
