Gastronomy + cocktails
Even though it’s only been open for a few short months, I think that it’s become one of the mandatory destinations for anyone who loves the “gastrobar” concept, along with a great drink (gin and tonics in my case).
The place is amazing. It’s right in front of the Parque del Oeste (Madrid’s Western Park) and has big windows that give the place a really splendid atmosphere. It has a sophisticated decoration, New York style, with colored lights (giving it a somewhat tacky feel at the same time). It’s divided into two parts, a restaurant and a cocktail lounge. But it’s not your typical restaurant that is bothered if you’re just hanging out in the cocktail lounge and still ask for something to eat. As a matter of fact, the service is excellent.
We ordered three “gastrotapas” (appetizers to share), which turned out to be absolutely remakable and memorable dishes. Potatoes with truffles and foie with poached eggs, Burrata de salerno with tomatoes and muscatel oil, and a tartare. Everything was spectacular. It’s also an ideal place to have a great gin and tonic. There’s a large variety of gin and a perfect atmosphere. I choose the Fifty Pounds with Fever-Tree, which is a simple drink. The gin was elaborate and tremendously balanced. It didn’t taste like cologne or like anything unrelated to the gin. It was perfect.
In summary, it’s a truly indescribable stop for fans of good food and good drinks. Just make sure you come with your wallet fully loaded!
