En temporada alta Punta del Este no es un destino mochilero, y sin ninguna duda el estilo vacacional de la ciudad no es el mío, yo suelo escapar de los lugares donde la concentración de turistas supera a los locales, pero Punta del Este es un lugar muy agradable fuera de temporada. Los precios bajan considerablemente y puedes alojarte en pequeños hoteles con encanto por $20 la doble, y es agradable la sensación que produce caminar casi a solas por un paseo marítimo enorme y unas playas habitualmente ocupadas por miles de personas. Hay un monumento curioso, aparentemente enterrado en la arena, de la que sobresalen sólo los dedos de una mano gigantesca, y es un poco inquietante pensar que en cualquier momento pueda salir de la arena el resto.

In high season Punta del Este is not a backpacker destination, and no doubt the style resort town is not mine, I usually escape where tourists concentration exceeds the locals, but Punta del Este is a place very nice off-season.
